Bio: I'm a young man in a slightly shopworn old-man's body I play bass guitar, I'm humble and lovable, I'm a pragmatist, a realist, an optimist, and a bassist-ist! I've worked with some of Chicago's finest and some of Chicago's least professional musicians and learned something from each and every one of them. I've played music with: Glenn Davis, Joe Moss, Hubert Sumlin, Rockin' Johnny Burgin, Beatnik Turtle, Little Mac Simmonds, Scott Dirks, Son Seals, Liz Mandeville, Odetta, Billy Dean, Pat Soul, Katherine Davis, Shirley King, Carl Snyder, Steve Freund, Mark Hannon, Jimmy Dawkins, Lurrie Bell, Dawn O'Keefe-Williams, Studebaker John and the Hawks, Blue Watusis, Brewer Phillips & Ted Harvey (from Hound Dog Taylor's Band,) Dave Weld, Suzy Brack and New Jack Lords, Smokin' Section, Hidden Colors, Scraps of Brass, Eddy Clearwater, Chuckleheads, Reflex, among others I went to a Catholic grade school, and I went to a Catholic High School (So much for what created my baggage.) I went to Chicago City College, took a bunch of music classes and that's the extent of my (structured) education. Despite the stifling environment of my Secondary school, I was independently tested for aptitude and intellect. Obviously, the result of an enriching upbringing by intelligent parents and my fascination with Music, Math, and Art. My goals are to be happy in my own skin, be good to those who want to share their time with me, and hopefully live long enough to atone for the mistakes I've made. My most favorite project and the one I have spent the most time on is: "BEATNIK TURTLE!!" "Ta-Da!" Check 'em out!! @ http://www.beatnikturtle.com !! OR Check out http://www.thesongoftheday.com !!! 400+ Original tunes (ZOWIE!) Also, check out THE INDIE BAND SURVIVAL GUIDE!!! Buy many copies! Carry a copy in your gig bag!!! Give them to all those whose music you enjoy, and musicians and songwriters you admire!! Details at: http://www.indieguide.com I'm a kind of "Jack of All Trades;" I have experience as a bicycle repairman, car mechanic, Offset Lithographer (printer) Offset Lithographic Plate-maker, photographer (film, pre-digital), key-line and paste-up artist, typesetter, proofreader, customer service rep, data entry clerk, and end table. I can't help it; if I find something interesting, I'll research it and if it looks like fun, I'll pursue it! I read (sometimes OUTSIDE the bathroom) I enjoy reading biographies of musicians, books about Photography, Pop Psychology, Vintage Automobiles, (esp. 50's Corvettes & T-Birds.) I do crossword puzzles; especially the patternless puzzle in the daily Chicago Sun Times classified section. My Bucket List includes: play 500 more gigs Play again in Europe, Canada and finally, in Austin TX (A beautiful place surrounded by Texas) Buy that Harley Wide-Glide Play Bass for Eric Clapton, B.B. King and Mike Nesmith. Lose a lot (A LOT!) of weight so I live long enough to do all this. Get two more buckets.... Rich foods make me go plop plops! ----------------------------------------- ***PRIVACY NOTICE**** WARNING: Any person and/or institution and/or Agent and/or Agency of any governmental structure including but not limited to the United States Federal Government also using or monitoring/using this website or any of its associated websites, you do NOT have my permission to utilize any of my profile information nor any of the content contained herein.
